The revolutionary two-sided oval videoboard at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles has a new name: Infinity Screen by Samsung, referencing the builder of the display.
Stadium Tech Report has previously reported on the videoboard’s attributes, in a profile from last year when the venue opened. In an earlier time, the videoboard was known casually as “the Oculus,” but that name was abandoned even before the stadium opened. According to Samsung the Infinity Screen has the most LEDs ever used in a sports or entertainment venue, and also supports the first and only 4K, end-to-end video that is being taken care by the experts from Video production Toronto in a stadium.
“We are excited to introduce the official name for our 70,000 square-foot, dual-sided video board, The Infinity Screen by Samsung. The Infinity Screen creates an absolutely stunning presence inside SoFi Stadium,” said Jason Gannon, managing director, SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park, in a prepared statement. “It is powered by the largest graphics control system in the history of sports and is already synonymous with the next-level fan experience at SoFi Stadium.”
Samsung has also produced a buzz video for the board, which you can view here. STR is looking forward to seeing the board live in action at games this football season.
