Public entity formed to own Browns’ new $2.6B stadium
Brook Park City Council has approved the creation of a public entity that will eventually own the Cleveland Browns’ new $2.6 billion Huntington Bank Field and lease it back to the team for at least 30 years. The Brook Park New Community Authority will also support financing and development of the surrounding 178-acre entertainment district, with the 67,500-seat enclosed stadium scheduled to open for the 2029 NFL season. Chicago approves $425M infrastructure deal for Fire stadium district
Chicago City Council has approved an amended agreement providing up to $424.9 million in tax-increment financing for public infrastructure supporting The 78 development, home to the Chicago Fire’s new McDonald’s Park. The 22,000-seat, $750 million stadium itself will be privately funded by Fire owner Joe Mansueto and is scheduled to open in 2028. Read more here.
$620M expansion proposed for Audi Field
D.C. Council Chairman Phil Mendelson has proposed a $620 million expansion of Audi Field that would add a climate-controlled roof and about 8,000 seats, increasing capacity to approximately 28,000. The District would contribute about $300 million, with supporters arguing the roof could allow the venue to host roughly 100 additional events annually; the proposal remains in its early stages and requires council approval. FIFA, HBS expanded production technology for World Cup Final
FIFA and host broadcaster HBS expanded their production plan for the World Cup Final with a 60-camera match setup, enhanced replay systems and additional aerial coverage. The sprawling operation covered the opening ceremony, halftime show, trophy presentation and team arrivals surrounding the championship match. Read more here.
Real Madrid adds immersive Apple Vision Pro experience at Bernabéu
Real Madrid has introduced Bernabéu Infinito, a new immersive attraction that uses Apple Vision Pro to place visitors inside the atmosphere of a Champions League match at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. The experience was produced using more than 30 cameras and Apple Immersive Video, combining 180-degree stereoscopic 3D, 8K video and Spatial Audio. Read more here.

Detroit City FC breaks ground on $150M-plus AlumniFi Field
Detroit City FC has broken ground on AlumniFi Field, a new 15,000-seat soccer-specific stadium that will anchor a $200 million mixed-use development in southwest Detroit. The privately owned venue, now scheduled to open for the 2028 USL Championship season, is part of a broader project that includes a parking garage and 104-unit residential building. Read more here.
Quebec approves Olympic Stadium interior renovation
The Quebec government has approved plans to modernize Montreal’s Olympic Stadium, including redesigned seating, premium suites and upgrades to restrooms and concessions. The interior work is expected to be completed by the stadium’s planned 2028 reopening, alongside an ongoing CA$870 million roof replacement project. Read more here.
Toronto FC II to relocate to new Barrie stadium in 2028
Toronto FC II will move to Barrie in 2028 as part of a partnership to build a new soccer-specific stadium in the city’s downtown. The venue will feature 3,500 permanent seats, expandable to 6,500 for sports and 8,500 for concerts, along with 16 suites, a club lounge, fieldside seating and a rooftop terrace. Read more here.
