Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE) announced that it has chosen walk-through scanning technology startup Xonar to provide security screening devices for Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., the first large pro arena customer win for the St. Petersburg, Fla.-based Xonar.
While other new “walk-through” scanning systems such as those from market leader Evolv have rapidly found homes in stadiums across the country, the fast-follower Xonar has only had one prior public announcement of a pro stadium win, at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles. According to the press release from MSE and Xonar, MSE plans to deploy Xonar’s TruePort walk-through screening units across Capital One Arena’s main entrances in time for use starting with the 2026-27 NHL and NBA seasons.
“As a venue, our responsibility begins before the game, concert or event starts,” said Jordan Silberman, President of Venues at MSE, in a prepared statement about the multi-year deal. “Fans should be able to focus on why they came to Capital One Arena, not on the process of getting inside. Xonar will help us make that first moment feel more effortless while giving our security and arena experience teams the confidence and capability to do their jobs at the highest level.”
