Cosm opens Detroit venue with 87-foot LED dome
Cosm has opened a 70,000-square-foot immersive sports and entertainment venue in downtown Detroit, anchored by an 87-foot-diameter, 12K+ LED dome that gives audiences a 180-degree view of live events. The three-level, 1,500-capacity facility also features wall-to-wall LED displays in its sports-bar-style Hall and becomes Cosm’s fourth U.S. location. Read more here.
SoFi Stadium completes multi-layered production technology upgrade
SoFi Stadium has overhauled several layers of its in-house production infrastructure, including the installation of Ross Video’s XPression Tessera UHD system to support content across the venue’s displays. The renovation gives the Rams, Chargers and other production teams more flexible workflows as the stadium prepares for an increasingly busy schedule of major events. Read more here.
FOX Sports standardizes NFL production across games and studio shows
FOX Sports is rolling out upgraded production technology across its NFL broadcasts to give games a more consistent look regardless of the size of the crew or equipment package. The network has also tightened the connection between remote game productions and its Los Angeles studios, allowing highlights, analysis and other content to move more smoothly between broadcasts and programs. Sixers and Flyers unveil first renderings of new arena
The Philadelphia 76ers and Flyers have released the first exterior renderings of their jointly developed arena, which is scheduled to open in 2030 on the former Spectrum site in South Philadelphia. Designed by Populous with Moody Nolan, the privately funded venue will also house Philadelphia’s new WNBA team and feature fan plazas and architecture inspired by the Spectrum. Read more here.
Gold Coast arena paused as projected cost reaches A$1 billion
Plans for a 12,000- to 15,000-seat arena on Australia’s Gold Coast have been paused after the projected cost doubled from approximately A$500 million to A$1 billion. City officials are discussing a new funding model with the Queensland government for the venue, which is expected to be part of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Read more here.
Kansas City backs CPKC Stadium expansion; Winnipeg unveils modular venue
Kansas City has approved up to $185 million in public funding for the Current’s $1.4 billion riverfront development, which would expand CPKC Stadium from 11,500 to as many as 18,000 seats and add parking, trails, retail and mixed-use space. In Canada, Winnipeg’s Northern Super League expansion team has unveiled plans for an expandable modular stadium at Ralph Cantafio Soccer Complex, supported by C$8.5 million in government funding. Visa shifts NFL strategy with Eagles partnership
Visa has signed a multiyear sponsorship agreement with the Philadelphia Eagles, one of eight new corporate partnerships the team added for the 2026 season. The deal includes branding rights to the player arrival tunnel at Lincoln Financial Field and reflects Visa’s shift toward individual team agreements after ending its 30-year league-wide NFL sponsorship. Oura expands into team sponsorships with Dodgers deal
Oura has signed a multiyear agreement making its Oura Ring the official health wearable of the Los Angeles Dodgers, marking the company’s first sponsorship of a North American professional sports team. Genoa approves 90-year lease for Stadio Luigi Ferraris
Genoa City Council has approved a 90-year lease that will allow Genoa and Sampdoria to continue operating at the city-owned Stadio Luigi Ferraris while supporting its planned redevelopment. The approximately €108 million privately funded project is targeted for completion by March 2031 as the city pursues a place among Italy’s UEFA Euro 2032 host venues. Read more here.
Rogers extends Rogers Place partnership through 2036
Rogers and OEG Sports & Entertainment have extended their strategic partnership for another 10 years, retaining the Rogers Place name and keeping the Edmonton arena at the center of the company’s relationship with the Oilers. The agreement includes arena-wide branding and introduces the Rogers Goal Cam, which lets fans capture and share their reactions after Oilers goals. Read more here.
