The Tennessee Titans have selected ANDREW to provide the distributed antenna system for the new Nissan Stadium, giving the venue an all-digital cellular architecture designed to support multiple mobile operators.
The stadium will use ANDREW’s ERA digital DAS to provide cellular connectivity for fans, staff and venue operations. The system connects directly to mobile networks and is designed to provide scalable service while simplifying support for multiple carriers.
The network will support mobile ticketing and frictionless entry, live video streaming, social engagement, cashless transactions and concessions. It will also support security, crowd management and other back-of-house operations.
Andrew McIntyre, senior vice president of technology and innovation for the Titans and Nissan Stadium, said the system is intended to provide consistent connectivity for both fan-facing services and stadium operations.
ANDREW said the digital architecture is designed to reduce some of the complexity associated with traditional in-building cellular systems while providing the performance and scalability required in a large venue.
Stadium Tech Report previously covered an ANDREW ERA deployment at Rocket Arena in Cleveland, where the digital DAS was designed to reduce equipment requirements and associated power and cooling needs while supporting 4G and 5G service from multiple operators.
