Chiefs unveil renderings for new $3 billion stadium
The Kansas City Chiefs have released the first renderings of their planned $3 billion enclosed stadium in Kansas, with the 70,000-seat venue scheduled to open in 2031. The design features a translucent ETFE roof, seating bowl engineered to amplify crowd noise, more than 20,000 parking spaces to preserve the club’s tailgating tradition, and flexibility to host major events beyond the NFL season. Athletics assume responsibility for Las Vegas ballpark support infrastructure
The Athletics have filed permit applications to build a six-story parking garage and central utility plant for their future Las Vegas ballpark after taking responsibility for the infrastructure from development partner Bally’s. Tepper expands Bank of America Stadium renovation to $1.3 billion
Tepper Sports & Entertainment has increased the cost of its Bank of America Stadium renovation from $800 million to $1.3 billion, with owner David Tepper contributing an additional $500 million while Charlotte’s previously approved $650 million public funding remains unchanged. Updated plans include new fan gathering areas, larger video boards, renovated premium spaces, a 500-level social patio, and a 4,400-seat entertainment venue as work continues toward a 2030 completion. Bengals complete first phase of Paycor Stadium renovation
The Cincinnati Bengals have completed the first phase of a multiyear renovation of Paycor Stadium, introducing more than 2,000 additional club seats, five new suites, expanded premium hospitality spaces, upgraded concessions, renovated restrooms, and improved wayfinding ahead of the 2026 NFL season. The New York Yankees have selected Lumen Technologies to provide high-capacity network connectivity linking Yankee Stadium with the club’s primary data center in Tampa, Florida, using dual 100-gigabit fiber routes with automatic failover for continuous operations. The programmable network supports game-day operations, security, broadcast production, media workflows, and fan connectivity while allowing bandwidth to scale on demand during peak events. NHL centralizes regional broadcast production for four teams
The NHL has launched a centralized production operation for regional broadcasts, with the Carolina Hurricanes, Columbus Blue Jackets, Minnesota Wild, and St. Louis Blues joining for the 2026-27 season following the collapse of the FanDuel Sports Network regional model. NHL Productions will provide technical infrastructure, production services, and enhanced broadcast capabilities – including additional cameras, replay tools, and upgraded graphics while teams retain control of distribution, advertising, and local programming. SoFi Stadium and the surrounding 300-acre Hollywood Park campus have consolidated video surveillance, access control, automatic license plate recognition, and other security systems onto a single Genetec Security Center platform. The unified system manages more than 3,000 cameras and 700 access readers across three security operations centers, improving situational awareness and response times ahead of upcoming major events.
