Browns open immersive preview center for new stadium
The Cleveland Browns have opened a 4,000-square-foot preview center for their new Huntington Bank Field as the team begins selling suites for the stadium, scheduled to open in 2029. Designed by Elevate, the center features Advent’s immersive Cube technology, which provides 270-degree digital views that let prospective buyers experience locations throughout the future stadium. Suns, Mercury unveil massive exterior LED display for Mortgage Matchup Center
The Phoenix Suns and Mercury will install a 9,266-square-foot transparent LED display across the plaza entrance of Mortgage Matchup Center, billed as the largest exterior transparent display at an NBA or WNBA arena. Designed and engineered by OneRevel using Absen LED technology, the 226-foot-wide display will feature more than 17 million pixels and support watch parties, highlights, entertainment content, and sponsor messaging. Detroit Lions partner with L1VE on immersive game-day experience
The Detroit Lions have named L1VE their official immersive partner, giving fans a virtual in-stadium experience through the company’s Social Presence platform. Launching with the Lions’ Aug. 22 preseason game against Washington, the technology captures Ford Field in stereoscopic 360-degree 3D and 14K for viewing on major immersive headsets, including Meta Quest and Apple Vision Pro. Capital One Arena plans immersive ‘Visibowl’ as part of renovation
Capital One Arena’s ongoing renovation will include an immersive “Visibowl” designed to keep fans connected to the action as they move through the venue. The system will use more than 50 cameras and large video walls to create an experience likened to Cosm’s shared-reality venues, making fans on the entrance level feel as though they are looking directly onto the court, ice, or stage. Rays select construction team for proposed $2.3B Tampa stadium
The Tampa Bay Rays have selected a joint venture of AECOM Hunt, Turner Construction and HORUS Construction Services as construction manager for their proposed $2.3 billion stadium in Tampa. The team will work with Populous on the project, which is targeting a September construction start and a 2029 opening.Read more here.
Second roof truss completed at A’s Las Vegas ballpark
Crews have completed installation of the second steel roof truss arch at the Athletics’ $2 billion, 33,000-seat ballpark under construction on the Las Vegas Strip. The Mortenson-McCarthy project remains on schedule for completion ahead of the 2028 MLB season, with the roof ultimately supported by a series of large steel arches. Read more here.
Scotia Place construction reaches major roof milestone
Construction of Calgary’s new Scotia Place arena continues to take shape, with installation of the massive steel roof trusses providing one of the project’s most visible milestones to date. Raiders reveal plans for $158M Allegiant Stadium North Plaza upgrade
The Las Vegas Raiders have unveiled plans for a $158 million upgrade to the north entrance of Allegiant Stadium that would add elevated pedestrian and event decks, a public plaza and transportation improvements. The proposed project is designed to improve fan access from the Las Vegas Strip, with construction expected to begin after the Raiders’ season and be completed ahead of the stadium’s next Super Bowl. Kansas City approves $600M for new Royals stadium
The Kansas City Council has approved a $600 million funding commitment toward the Royals’ planned $1.9 billion downtown ballpark at Crown Center. Foundation work underway on Oklahoma City’s new NBA arena
Flintco|Mortenson has begun pouring foundation concrete for Continental Coliseum, the new downtown arena being built for the Oklahoma City Thunder. Crews are placing pier caps and two large mat foundations while below-grade waterproofing and underground utility work continues, with the approximately $990 million arena targeted for completion in 2028. Suncorp Stadium set for major upgrade ahead of Brisbane 2032
Suncorp Stadium will undergo the largest upgrade in its 23-year history, with plans including supersized scoreboards, a 360-degree LED ribbon board suspended from the roof and large-scale exterior media mesh at both ends of the venue. The Brisbane stadium will also add new terrace bars and fan spaces, safe-standing areas and additional capacity as Queensland upgrades its sports infrastructure ahead of the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Brisbane’s Ballymore Stadium is set for another round of redevelopment as Rugby Australia prepares to relocate its national teams and high-performance operations to the venue. Michigan Athletics is bringing expanded commercial advertising to Michigan Stadium, with Coca-Cola, Meijer and Google Gemini signed as the inaugural partners in its new Leaders and Best Champion Partners Program. The agreements open the traditionally ad-light Big House to new branding opportunities on video boards, around the field and through digital and in-game activations as Michigan seeks additional revenue to support its athletics programs.
