Tottenham consolidates stadium technology with HPE
Tottenham Hotspur is expanding its HPE partnership with a technology overhaul focused on consolidation and operating efficiency. The club will reduce distributed compute and storage environments from eight to two, unify networking across the venue and use AI-driven automation to simplify operations. Mercedes-Benz Stadium adds Mini Halo Board to control room
Mercedes-Benz Stadium has installed a scaled-down replica of its 360-degree Halo Board inside the venue’s control room, allowing production teams to preview content in the display’s unusual format before sending it live. Bills replace field at new Highmark Stadium before regular-season debut
The Buffalo Bills are replacing the natural-grass playing surface at the new $2.2 billion Highmark Stadium after sections came loose during two preseason games. Installation of the replacement field is expected to be completed before the stadium hosts its first regular-season game on Sept. 17. Read more here.
Brazil’s Arena da Baixada adds retractable stand
Arena da Baixada in Curitiba is installing what is billed as South America’s first fully retractable stadium stand, allowing a 2,000-seat section to be stored away to create space for concert stages. The project is designed to expand the venue’s event calendar without compromising its close-to-the-pitch seating configuration for Athletico Paranaense matches. Read more here.
Venezia’s new 18,500-seat stadium takes shape
Construction is progressing across all sections of Venezia’s new stadium in Tessera, with structural work inside the bowl complete and installation of the terracing underway. The multipurpose venue, part of Venice’s Bosco dello Sport complex, is scheduled to open in 2027 and will accommodate up to 24,400 people for concerts. Read more here.

Las Vegas Stadium Authority approves $75 million for Allegiant Stadium upgrades
The Las Vegas Stadium Authority approved $75 million in public funding toward a $158 million upgrade of Allegiant Stadium’s busy north entrance, with the Raiders covering the remaining costs. Plans include an elevated pedestrian walkway connecting the stadium more directly with the Las Vegas Strip, event and pedestrian decks, a plaza and transportation improvements, with completion targeted for late 2028. Cavaliers name DAZN exclusive local broadcast partner
The Cleveland Cavaliers have signed a multiyear agreement making DAZN the team’s exclusive local media-rights partner beginning with the 2026-27 season. In-market fans can stream every non-nationally televised preseason and regular-season game, with 15 games available free through DAZN and a yet-to-be-announced over-the-air partner. Read more here.
Haier signs four-year UEFA Champions League sponsorship
Haier will become a global partner of the UEFA Champions League under a four-year agreement running from the 2027-28 season through 2030-31. The deal gives the company exclusive worldwide sponsorship rights in the home appliances, televisions and commercial display screens categories across several UEFA club competitions.
